Yala is located on the southeastern coast of Sri Lanka. It’s easily reached via Tissamaharama, Kataragama, and Kirinda. The park offers a photogenic blend of dry jungle, grasslands, and coastline.
The best time for a Yala Safari is the dry season from February to July, which significantly increases sightings as animals (especially Leopards, Elephants, and Sloth Bears) gather near water sources. The main Block 1 route is famous for leopard spotting. It is highly recommended to take the safari during the peak activity times (early morning and late afternoon). For your safety and the best experience, always travel with an experienced guide, remain silent inside the jeep, and avoid disembarking except in authorized areas
